Hong Kong Shenzhen Border Crossing (11)
A proposal for a zero-carbon hybrid building linking Hong Kong and Shenzhen borders. The design proposal was create a single open roof-structure with pedestrican and vehicular crossing bundled together. Large roof scoops would direct daylight into the space and collect breezes during the cooler months. Photovoltaic cells on the roof would provide additional electricity while the whole structure would site lightly on a concrete plinth and steel spaceframe. -
LA_High Density Housing (8)
Design for a new housing complex in downtown Los Angeles. The proposal is a mixed use plan with public and private green space integrated throughout for tenants and the wider community. Shops, alley walkthroughs, studio spaces, restaurants, and community space are interspersed between market-rate condominiums and smaller family flats. -
Aldgate_Tower (8)
Proposal for a temporary structure in London's central neighbourhood of Aldgate. The structure is to echo the Midevil city gate which originally stood in the now vacant site. The new tower will act as a physical and social portal, marking a local connection to London's 2012 Olympics and advertising to the world Aldgate's position as a uniquely creative and dynamic hub within London and greater Europe. -
Venice_Bridge (13)
Proposal for a new pedestrian bridge over the grand canal in Venice. The proposed bridge connects two isolated neighbourhoods through converging paths over the canal. The bridge will house a temporary gallery space and glass bottomed catwalk to use during festivals, exhibitions, and performance. The bridge will become a flexible event space and ammenity for locals and visitors in the tradition of the Rialto Bridge and great bridges of old. -
Melbourne_Restaurant (7)
A new dining experience for Melbourne. The restaurant houses a sushi bar with a-la-carte degustation menu. The concept is for a series of elements which fuse japanese hi-tech culture and media with traditional materials and handicraft. Wood, concrete, fiberglass, and steel create an intimate and unique dining space. -
Shoreditch_House (13)
Renovation of an existing warehouse space from late 1800's. Much of the existing interior space was kept untouched and exposed to keep the character of the space. An experimental sculptural balustrade moves vertically through the house and ties together the materials of floor, kitchen, and rooms.
